The Greatest of all Days

Snow Globe Christmas thoughts and memories that will last forever with Speedcat Hollydale
Christmas Eve this year will be at home. Much of the holidays is timing; "Who goes where on what day"?

I will have two destinations for tomorrow, the 25th. While this is a major task with a lot of travel involved, it also affords me with one day that can match no other. Non-stop Christmas from morning till night. I sit here writing this evening with my mind buzzing with recollections from my past, and to what will transpire ... I am thankful to know that family members I have not seen in months will be in town.
My computer is by a large window, and it's warm, cozy, and calm. Very quiet! Outside the sun is setting over a frozen cap of snow on the neighbors roof, as the holiday lights flash with ever gaining intensity. My tree is glowing around the corner, and yes ... there are still tings to wrap!

I look at the snow globe above, and envision what is going on in the house, much as I wonder what great things may come to be as presents are opened, and smiles are exchanged. My idea is to return here to this post after the greatest of all days is over to reflect on all events that transpired, and to elaborate on the NEW memories I will carry with me for the rest of my days. I know they will be cherished.
Won't you return here as well, and give your own stories from Christmas 2008? It could be the day after celebrating, or even months down the road. Please leave a comment with your own thoughts and memories, so we call all share them here together.

May your holiday be safe, happy, and full of love.
God bless,
Speedcat Hollydale

1 block of milk chocolate, 1 can of evaporated milk (what really is it when the milk evaporates?) and 1 cup of pecans, melted and mixed together and i'm at peace :D hehehe. Have a wonderful, magical Kissiemuch !

Well, it's 4.15 am on Christmas morning here in the UK and I've got a bout of insomnia - that means I'll be falling asleep just as the kids are waking up! Rats! A very Merry Christmas to you and all your family Speedy. If I have any amzing stories about how I helped Santa get his arse out of the chimney in approximately half an hour I'll let you know...

Now where's my beard and costume..I've already got the belly....

Santa says "Ho, Ho, Ho, and down through the chimney." Hmmm...I'm not sure if that means I've been good or not. He may be coming down through the chimney just to bring me a whole bunch of coal in my stocking!! HA!

I had a nice Christmas, Speedy. It was quiet just at home with immediate family, but very nice. Christmas with extended family members unfortunately had to be canceled due to Ohio ice storms---boo hiss!! We hope to reschedule that celebration but not sure when yet. It may have to wait until Spring! ha ha!

Hope your new socks are keeping your feet warm and your Christmas memories are keeping your heart warm. :)

Daisy!!!

So nice that you could return and teel us about your holiday :-)

Christmas in the North country is always a guessing game with weather. One year family coming from the South were forced to get a hotel for a day because the interstate was CLOSED. Things have to be pretty bad to close an interstate in Minnesota!
Sorry to hear that you missed some people this year, although, it will be nice to have 2 Christmases in one calendar year. I have often thought we should have two anyway.

Yes and yes to your last inquiries ... thanks again Daisy

My Christmas was AWESOME. I woke up early and went to the first house on my list to find lot's of food and happy faces. Yes, there was plenty of snow to make the day seem just right.
Presents were opened and I was surprised to get many things I needed. Christmas #1 is lacking children now, so it is much more subdued, and social. It's like Thanksgiving with ham and gifts.
Nice

House number two has KIDS. Wild, fun, feverish would come to mind! We ate first .... (yes, AGAIN!) and then opened presents. The kids wer so excited. My brothers boy just goes crazy tearing through the paper :-)
Every year, all the GUYS put on a pan parade for the ladies. Ages 5 ~ 66 are all in on the action. I realize this is strange, but for my family NOTHing is really strange. Ha haaaaaaa!!!
To round out the night, we all were in the living room talking, singing, and sharing stories.
What started at 8:00 AM lasted till 11:30 PM. Quite a day.

I posted some photos at my blog if you would like to see them.

Maunie ... being with family is "key" for me too. One year Christmas was spent in the hospital, yet because we were all together it was alright.

So glad to see you here. I was by your blog yesterday looking for a new post.

Hugs and best wishes Maunie, and thanks for sharing your holiday !!!
