Twenty similarities I've noticed in three iconic adventure heroes beloved by their generation's kids each separated by more than twenty years.

- Well worn attire
- Unique weapon that is part of the story
- Second unique backup weapon always carried
- Right to left hanging strap or belt across chests
- At least one additional piece of equipment or gear which is always worn
- Often unshaven or general scruffy look
- Wisecracking humor
- Frequently traveling
- Trouble often finds them
- Inventive or opportunistic in escape
- Their reputations precede them
- Occasional unique coat or jacket
- Often employed or asked to help
- Myths or tall tales about them are told
- Unenthusiastic participants in events of greater good
- Non-conforming rule breakers
- Introduced while at the end of a previous adventure
- Loyal company or sidekick in adventure
- A ride featuring them in Disneyland
