Comic art legend Jim Steranko created some amazing conceptual illustrations prior to even casting Raiders of the Lost Ark. I can easily imagine these as covers on some 30's or 40's pulp magazine with the Indy logo and a 10 cent price. They perfectly capture the movie serial spirit that inspired Lucas and Spielberg to make Raiders.
